This Giving Tuesday, we’re celebrating something close to our hearts: the next generation of water protectors who connect with Barton Springs and leave inspired to make a difference.
Your gift to Save Our Springs Alliance powers our education programs, especially Barton Springs University Day every fall, which brings hundreds of Central Texas students to the Springs every year for hands-on, place-based learning.
It is one of the most powerful things we do.

How often would a high school student see an endangered salamander, design a rain garden for their school, and simulate how water moves through the aquifer in one day? Save Our Springs staff begins planning 6 months in advance every year to bring this day to life for thousands of students, thanks to supporters like you. 
In 2025, SOS curated over 20 activities and 45 presenters in collaboration with dozens of organizations and renowned institutions across Texas. Students engage with experts from every corner of environmental science and conservation—from hydrogeologists and wildlife biologists to mycologists and creative reuse artists.
Only a handful of these students would be exposed to these organizations on their own or with their parents. It brought them face-to-face with environmental professionals that showed them that people work hard to protect the natural environment many take for granted and that there is a career path that they may not have been familiar with. — Andrew Harrod, Vice President of Programs, Save Barton Creek Association
