Meet the SOS Summer Law Clerks

​Every summer SOS’s team of staff attorneys is joined by two to three law students for a season of hands on learning and environmental advocacy. Our Summer Law Clerks have the opportunity to work closely with SOS attorneys on a variety of projects from researching cutting edge legal issues to drafting motions and briefs to attending public meetings and making comments. This summer, our law clerks delve deep into issues surrounding data centers, land use and the SOS Ordinance, and of course, water use!

A summer clerkship with SOS represents a unique opportunity for law students with a demonstrated passion for environmental or public interest advocacy to dive head first into meaningful legal work while contributing to projects that have a real impact on protecting Central Texas’s land, water, and communities. For SOS, the summer clerkships exemplify SOS’s commitment to education, mentorship, and investing in the next generation of environmental champions.

​Hello, I'm Eris! I am a long time Central Texas Resident, a Texas State Bobcat Alum, and Environmental Law student at the University of Texas School of Law. I have a deep passion for protecting the environment through enforcing regulations, pushing for sustainable development, and holding polluters accountable. Working at Save Our Springs has been eye-opening to the deeper environmental concerns here in Austin and the surrounding areas. I love working with Save Our Springs since the whole team is dedicated to the preservation of Austin's critical and beautiful ecosystems.

Hey, I'm Carson! I'm the Texas Law Stuart Henry Environmental Law Fellow, working here at Save Our Springs Alliance for the summer. I completed my undergrad at Rice University in History, Spanish, & Portuguese Studies before working briefly as a personal trainer and then coming to law school. My passion for environmental advocacy arose from my upbringing and reading of early American environmentalist writers who viewed stewardship of our planet as a core duty of being human. In particular, the book Nature by Ralph Waldo Emerson has always been an inspiration and a text that is near and dear to my heart.

Hi there! My name is Jeff Treadwell, I was born and raised in Dripping Springs and I'm currently a 2L at the University of Texas School of Law. In my free time I like to hike, swim and play chess. I have a deep appreciation for the nature and wildlife in central Texas and I'm grateful for the opportunity to advocate for it within the Save our Springs Alliance.
