altEast Austin Studio Tour with Artist Barry George Benefits SOS

Please join Save Our Springs Alliance at Barry George's Studio for this year's East Austin Studio Tour (EAST).

EAST is a free, annual, self-guided art event occurring over two weekends in November, providing the public with an opportunity to meet the makers: the local artists and artisans who leave a lasting imprint on Austin's vibrant, dynamic culture.

Local artist, master metal sculptor and activist, Barry George, is very generously donating 100% of his proceeds to SOS. Click here to see some of Barry's incredible work.

Here is his studio listing in the tour program. Join us this week-end and next: November 15-16 and November 22-23, 10AM - 6PM.

altSee the Film Yakona with Live Music at The North Door
November 16 and November 23

See the screening of the movie about the San Marcos River, Yakona, with LIVE performances by the musicians who did the score for the film. The venue, The North Door, is at E. 5th, one block east of 35, and it is a musical venue made from a building that was once a sound stage. Get your tickets in advance here or at the door, $10 or $12. Doors open 8:30, event starts at 9PM.

The San Marcos River Foundation will be there with some of the Yakona team.

If you didn't see it when it premiered at SXSW or even if you did -- what an incredible experience these musicians are offering at these two events. Yakona just won "Best Music" at the Blue Ocean Film Festival, a very prestigious festival in Florida for water-related films.
